nikon d60 - digital camera

The Nikon D60 lives up to the Nikon name, however, you will also pay for the Nikon name. This Nikon is rather expensive for the features it includes. The camera does come equipped with an onscreen interface that is very user-friendly for the non-experienced photographer. It seems though that this camera is lacking in the feature department.

Standout Features

Onscreen User InterfaceRetouch MenuRed, green, and blue intensifiers

The onscreen user interface is a little hard to get used to after normally always using the array of buttons and switches all over the camera. After adjusting to the camera you’ll find yourself zipping right along and mastering the controls with ease. The on screen menu is definitely a plus If you’re just a beginner to photography.

Having a retouch menu definitely helps in taking out a little bit of the work one must do to their photos upon uploading them to your computer. This retouch menu comes with the ability for red-eye reduction, D-lighting adjustments, cropping and etc.

The Intensifiers were extra cool because it is a new effect you can use with your photos, for those of you that are unfamiliar; this intensifier option lets you give your photos a certain colored tint, i.e. You take a picture of a boat on the lake, and you want to put it with a blue tint you would chose the blue intensifier for a sweet effect in the picture.

Summary of Reviews
It seemed though that most of the people that were found that purchased the camera and reviewed it bought this camera for the trusted brand name, as there are other cameras on the market with a smaller price tag and a few more or equal features. However, you can never go wrong with a Nikon as they are a very trusted and established brand of camera.

Summary
This camera is a solid choice for an entry level dSLR. While it may be short on features the photo quality is very good and the lack of features may not even matter to a beginner to the art. On the other hand if you are more of an advanced photographer there are other comparable cameras out there that may better serve you.
