Canon LV-8215-the spaceship has landed
When you unzipped first Canon LV-8215, I don't think it would be able to deal. It is merely another multimedia projector which is not yet able to play files Full HD this is also quite large, and doesn't have HDMI. Still, I took my time with them during the day, I was warming up for a while. Let's see what it is capable of.
It seems quite futuristic
Design and features
At first glance, the LV-8215 are very bulky, but I wanted the design to stand out, as compared with the ordinary box-projectors available today. It seems really good enough, space age if you look at certain angles.
Behind the LV-8215 fairly accommodating when it comes to connectivity. Certainly, it has HDMI, but Canon has tried to do so by adding it to a DVI-I HDCP port. There are also all the other usual suspects such as VGA, S-Video and composite. You'll also find two audio inputs. one RCA and one, a Jack 3,5 mm with a composite video input. This is great, as it enables you to connect to a DVD or a Blu-ray player. There are also a seperate audio and video outputs are provided. Canon has also a VGA cable with a DVI converter. Last but certainly not least, you'll find an Ethernet port, which allows you to connect the projector to a wired network.
The inputs
As regards other features go, the LV-8215 has five predefined functions and six colour temperature settings to choose from. Also is very bright, in lumens, 2600 is a native 16: 9 aspect ratio and supports 1280 x 800 resolution. It has a 450: 1 contrast ratio and weighs 3.3 kg. The LV-8215 lamp lasts approximately 4,000 hours in standard mode and 5000 hours in eco mode.
Performance
First tested the LV-8215 with a PC and a 720 p file played. I was surprised to see some pretty good color reproduction, and deep black levels. I was impressed enough to at least. I also tried this with BDP2700/12 Philips Blu-ray player and the image quality which shone again. Also I played left dead it just from the Alienware Aurora ALX, and there were no signs of delay or other discrepancies. I tried even a text file, and it seemed Nice and crisp.
The audio for this projector gives is desirable, although many. Watts has a built-in speaker, but this is not possible at all. If you plan to use this projector for watching movies and playing games, I would definitely recommend a good set of speakers to go along. However, if you're just a presentation, it should be enough for these speakers.
One thing I noticed about this was that the projector is very noisy and dissipates heat also too little. In fact, that smelled like an ironing cloth, a piece when they were on.
The LV-8215 projector is certainly very easy to use. Although the menu does not appear to be very attractive, it is easy to navigate and it works really well. We must not put much thought into it. The remote control is also quite standard, and easy to use. The only thing I found was a little strange name of this navigation buttons do not have anything in the Center. Usually, the OK button or the Enter button is always there, but in this case, is on the left side of the remote.
The remote control has the OK button at the side of the Centre and not
One thing I found strange about this projector is that the network cable is not really much use. The main function is to send an alert when your bulb life is coming to an end, or when an error occurs.
I found that this distinguished in areas such as flickering screen uniformity, color, scale and Streaking and ghosting test. It also did beautiful OK with tests such as Guilloche pattern, moiré, Halo green and Defocusing, and schedule tracking Pixel locking. From a total score of 70 points, the LV-8215 came outside the Chamber tests above the average of 40.
Verdict
This is certainly one of the best projectors that I have seen. It has excellent colour reproduction capabilities, it is easy to use and is not too expensive at Rs. 89,995. I would recommend this projector, although certainly has its share of problems. It is a little noisy, and gets hot quickly enough and is a little regulation. But if you can get these issues from the past is certainly a good projector to advance.
