We Want this PC Case/LCD Hybrid. Now!
This upcoming chassis features a built-in secondary screen ideal for widgets, chat clients and more.
During CES 2011, Moneual Labs introduced its new DSPC Case (pdf), a tower-type slim PC chassis with a built-in screen.
Unlike an all-in-one PC, the display isn't meant to be used as the PC's primary screen, but for use in a dual-screen monitor setup. As seen in the CES 2011 press image provided on the right, the screen is ideal for widgets, toolbars, calendars, chat clients and other applications.
The actual hardware details are unknown at this point (as in resolution, actual size etc), however the company claims it's the world's first energy saving PC case with a patented power management system built right in. The design was even impressive enough to land it a 2011 Innovations Honoree award at the tradeshow earlier this month.
Currently the the DSPC case is slated for a Q3 2011 release for $1,500, however Moneual Labs said that pricing is subject to change before its release. The company also added that all six products that received awards at CES 2011 won't be available on the U.S. market, so it's quite possible the chassis may never show up on American shores.
