ViewSonic Readies 3D Vision-Ready 24" Monitor

This monitor has a built-in Nvidia 3D Vision wireless emitter and an extra pair of 3D Vision specs.

Monday ViewSonic announced the upcoming release of a 24-inch 3D, full HD (1920 x 1080) LED monitor called the V3D245. Set to hit store shelves in mid-to-late August, it will include a built-in Nvidia 3D Vision wireless emitter and Nvidia 3D Vision specs, all for $499.

"Set-up is quick and easy," said Phil Eisler, general manager of 3D Vision at Nvidia. "Simply connect the monitor to your NVIDIA GeForce graphics card, put on the included NVIDIA 3D Vision glasses, and start enjoying games, videos and photos in a whole new way."

On the hardware front, the monitor will feature a 120 Hz frame refresh rate, a 2-ms video response time, 20,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 300 nits high brightness and HDMI 1.4 input, the latter which can be used to connect to a Blu-Ry 3D player or a PlayStation 3 console. The monitor will also sport integrated two-watt SRS Premium Sound audio speakers, rounding out the "ultimate multimedia entertainment display."

"Whether for work, play or media enjoyment, our new V3D245 monitor offers the highest level of compatibility with both PC- and console-based 3D content, and is ideal for delivering an incredible 3D experience," said Erik Willey, LCD monitor and PC product marketing manager, ViewSonic.

So far there's no specific release date or retailer list, so stay tuned.
